The Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) is holding its 35th Annual Issue and Research Conference. This year’s event is taking place in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday, February 28th, and Friday, March 1st.
The conference aims to provide industry professionals with ideas and research to help them better address current issues, included opioid misuse, effective service coordination, and effects of deductible group health plans on workers’ comp claims as part of this year’s theme, “Breaking Down Barriers to Improve Injured Workers’ Outcomes.” In addition to informative research and analysis, speakers can be counted on to share valuable experiences and innovative programs that can be implemented elsewhere.
As the Keynote Speaker, professor and economist Alan Krueger, who served as a member of President Obama’s cabinet from 2011 to 2013, will discuss the effects of the opioid epidemic on labor force participation and the impact of technology on the economy. Additional speakers include Dr. Cameron Mustard of the Institute for Work & Health, Dr. Olesya Fomenko of WCRI, and representatives from The Home Depot, Publix Super Markets, and Starbucks.
Sessions will address evidence-based return-to-work programs, the potential of telemedicine, and coordinated service programs for injured workers.
We’re excited that Melissa Dunn, SVP of Sales; Cliff Belliveau, VP of Business Intelligence; Rochelle Henderson, VP of Clinical Research; Jason Collard, Clinical Account Executive; and Austin Johnson, Clinical Account Executive, will be attending the conference on behalf on the myMatrixx team.
