On September 16th, myMatrixx parent company Cigna announced the launch of a new brand for its growing portfolio of high-performing health services. Evernorth was created to accelerate delivery of flexible solutions to meet the diverse needs of health plans, employers and government organizations. Under newly appointed CEO Tim Wentworth, this new venture will bring together an array of Cigna’s health services capabilities, as well as those of partners from across the health care system, in pharmacy solutions, benefits management, care solutions and data and analytics.
Evernorth will initially offer several distinct solutions, including EmbarcSM Benefit Protection, which ensures access to high-cost gene therapies for those who need it most, and inMyndSM, a connected solution that helps clients and customers better recognize, treat, and support mental health conditions. Current and future solutions address complex, timely and critical health care challenges, which include fragmentation of care, access to affordable therapies, administrative burden, clinical information gaps and changing patient behavior. By putting these high-performing and data driven services under one umbrella, Evernorth and Cigna are aiming to deliver simple, predictable and affordable health care to more patients in the most effective way possible.
“I see the new company and focus on services that expand beyond traditional PBM offerings as an opportunity to bring even greater value to our clients and their injured workers,” says myMatrixx president Mike Cirillo. “Items such as whole-person health, opioid weaning, diagnostics and case management are all solutions that benefit our health care clients but could easily be applied into the WC space, broadening the value we deliver and our ability to help injured workers return to work”.
The Evernorth brand includes all of the offerings within the Express Scripts and myMatrixx health services portfolio. Clients and partners will continue working with existing PBM and pharmacy services and account contacts as they do currently.
What will change is the ability to partner across the health care system and build upon best-in-class capabilities to create powerful solutions. Evernorth will serve as an innovation engine, creating promising opportunities without compromise to further unlock potential and value for clients and injured workers.
